Niluthpol Chowdhury Mithun

I am a fourth year PhD student at the University of California, Riverside, where I work as a Graduate Student Researcher in Video Computing Group, under the supervision of Professor Amit K. Roy-Chowdhury

I did my Bachelors and Masters from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. I worked at Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh as a Software Engineer from 2011-2014. I have spent Summer 2018 at SRI Center for Vision Technologies and Summer 2017 at Bosch Research Center Pittsburgh as Research Intern.

I'm interested in computer vision, machine learning, multimedia and intelligent transportation systems. My researches are mainly focused on image/video analysis and synthesis, image/video to text retrieval, object detection and visual place recognition. The main goal of my research is to develop efficient and scalable algorithms to understand the visual world (image collections and videos).
