Niluthpol Chowdhury Mithun

I am a fourth year PhD student at the University of California, Riverside, where I work as a Graduate Student Researcher in Video Computing Group, under the supervision of Professor Amit K. Roy-Chowdhury

Previously, I worked in Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh as a Software Engineer from 2011-2014. I did my bachelors and masters at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. I have spent Summer 2017 at Bosch Research Center Pittsburgh as Research Intern working on real-time object detection and video to text matching.

I'm interested in computer vision, machine learning, multimedia and intelligent transportation systems. My researches are mainly focused on image/video analysis and synthesis, image/video to text retrieval, object detection and visual place recognition. The main goal of my research is to develop efficient and scalable algorithms to understand the visual world (image collections and videos).
